This privacy policy explains how Brocagh Builders collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website, contact us or request a quotation.

Who we are

Brocagh Builders is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Website: https://brocaghbuilders.com/
Address: 28 Wentworth Drive, Pinner, London, HA5 2PU
Email: maurice@brocaghbuilders.com
Telephone: 07958 547028

What personal information we collect

Depending on how you contact us and the work you ask us to carry out, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address and telephone number.
  • Your project address, postcode or general location.
  • Information you provide about the proposed work.
  • Photographs, documents or other files you attach to an enquiry.
  • Correspondence between you and Brocagh Builders.
  • Quotation, project, invoice and payment records where you become a customer.
  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information and website security logs.

Please avoid including personal information that is not relevant to your enquiry. You should also avoid uploading photographs containing people, vehicle registration numbers or other private information unless this is necessary for us to understand the project.

How we use your information

We may use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and discuss the proposed work.
  • Review project photographs and other information you provide.
  • Arrange a site visit and prepare a quotation.
  • Plan, manage and complete agreed building or brickwork services.
  • Contact you about an existing quotation or project.
  • Issue invoices, maintain business records and meet tax or legal obligations.
  • Protect the website, investigate technical problems and prevent misuse.
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.

We do not use enquiry information for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell personal information.

Our lawful bases for using personal information

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for using personal information. The bases most relevant to Brocagh Builders are:

  • Contract: where you ask us to provide a quotation, take steps before entering into a contract, or carry out agreed work.
  • Legal obligation: where we need to keep financial, tax or other records required by law.
  • Legitimate interests: where it is reasonably necessary to operate and secure the website, manage the business, respond to relevant communications or protect our legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

If we ever wish to use your information for a new purpose that requires consent, we will ask for that consent separately.

Contact forms and uploaded files

Information submitted through the website contact form is sent to Brocagh Builders by email so that we can respond to your enquiry.

Uploaded photographs and documents are temporarily processed by the website so they can be attached to the enquiry email. Copies may then remain in the relevant email account as part of the enquiry or project record.

The website currently uses Contact Form 7. Contact Form 7 does not normally store submitted messages in the WordPress database by itself. If a separate submission-storage tool is introduced, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device by a website.

This website may use essential technical cookies needed for security, administration or basic website operation. WordPress also uses authentication and preference cookies for authorised website administrators who log in to manage the site.

We do not currently use cookies for advertising or behavioural profiling. If non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are introduced, we will update this policy and request consent where required.

You can control or delete cookies using your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect some website functions.

Website logs and security

The website and its hosting systems may record technical information, including IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and the time of access. This information may be used to maintain website security, investigate errors, prevent malicious activity and keep the service operating correctly.

Map services

The contact page may display an interactive map using Leaflet and map data or tiles supplied by OpenStreetMap or another map provider. When the map loads, technical information such as your IP address and browser details may be sent to the relevant map service so that the map can be displayed.

Who we share personal information with

We may share personal information only where reasonably necessary with:

  • Website hosting, maintenance and security providers.
  • Email and IT service providers.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers or legal advisers.
  • Payment providers or banks where relevant to a customer transaction.
  • Government bodies, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

These organisations may act as data processors or as independent data controllers, depending on the service they provide. We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will rely on an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard.

How long we retain personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected.

  • Enquiries that do not proceed are normally retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
  • Quotation and project correspondence may be retained for the duration of the proposed or completed work and for a reasonable period afterwards in case questions or disputes arise.
  • Customer, invoice and accounting records may be retained for at least the period required by tax, accounting and legal obligations, which will commonly be around six years.
  • Website security logs are retained only for the period needed for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

Information may be kept for longer where this is necessary because of an ongoing dispute, legal claim, insurance matter or regulatory requirement.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of sending information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your information.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Receive certain information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis being used.

These rights are not absolute and may not apply in every situation. To make a request, email maurice@brocaghbuilders.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

How to complain

Please contact Brocagh Builders first if you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection. Information about making a complaint is available on the ICO website.
